William Marvin Brown, 87, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Lancaster, husband of Wilma Brown, passed away Saturday, July 04, 2020 at his home. Born March 25, 1933 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late A.B. & Elizabeth Bratton Brown. Marvin was a former woodworker, farmer & served in The United States Army during the Korean War Era. He was a 1951 graduate at Lancaster High School, a life long member of the Lancaster DAV Chapter 25 as well as the NRA. Marvin was a KY Colonel, & part of the American Legion Post in Lancaster. He was also a member of Southside Christian Church & a former member of McKendree Methodist Church in Lincoln County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Reynolds Brown; brother, Richard “Tommy” Brown; sister, Betty Jane Edgington.
Survivors include his loving wife, Wilma Brown, of Harrodsburg; sons, Mark (Leann) Brown, of Lancaster, William Marvin “Willy” (William Woods) Brown Jr., of Lexington; daughter, Patricia “Trish” (Steve) Simpson, of Lancaster; step-sons, Randall Brown of Georgetown, Keith (Stacy) Brown, of Harrodsburg; grandchildren, Zachary (Melissa) Brown, of Lexington, Brandon (Amanda) Brown, of Mississippi; step-grandchildren, Kalin Brown, of Harrodsburg, Richard (Jessica) Brown, of Virginia, Aiden Brown, of Harrodsburg, great-grandchildren, Rowan Simpson, Levi Wayne Brown & step-great-grandchildren, Greyson Brown & Ivy Gail Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 07, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Bro. Seth Widner officiating & burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include all of Marvin’s grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Tuesday, July 07, 2020.
