Sky Tudor

Sky Ames Tudor, 73, of Danville Rd, passed away in his home Monday, August 7, 2017. Born Thursday, August 12, 1943 in Bloomington, Indiana, he was the son of the late John Julian Tudor and Ida Louise Vanderpool Tudor. In addition he was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla Ann France Tudor. He was a current member of the Lancaster Baptist Church, a member of Southern Baptist Foundation of Alaska and Kentucky Baptist. He also had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Anchorage, Alaska and was very active in the Grace Works Alaska Ministry while living in Alaska. He was a decorated retired Lt. Colonel of the U.S. Airforce from May 1966 until January 1991, and retired FAA. He was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska at time of his retirement.
Survivors include sons, Sky (Brenda) Tudor of Anchorage, Alaska, and Scott Tudor of Seattle, Washington; one brother, John (Patti) Tudor, Jr. of Pennsylvania; and one sister, Sally (Glenn) Watkins of Lancaster, with one grandchild, Skylar Tudor.
Sky’s wishes for cremation rites have been honored at this time. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 1-4 PM with funeral service at 4:00 PM at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Dr. Harold Best. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Happy Seniors Sunday School Class of Lancaster Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the Grace Works Alaska Ministry, 4149 Checkmate Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. Friends and family may leave condolences or special memories on his tribute page at www. ramsey-young.com. Ramsey – Young Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

    Sending thoughts and prayers to the family of an influential Christian man. I am so blessed to have known Sky. He will be greatly missed. I can only imagine the joy he experienced as he entered the gates of heaven and came face to face with our Lord.

    My condolences to Sally Tudor Watkins, John Tudor and the rest of Sky’s family. Losing both Sky and Priscilla in such a short time is heartbreaking. Such wonderful people they were, with their zest for life and sharing that joy and peace with others. I am so blessed to have known you both.

    I will always cherish the friendship and Christian example of Sky and Pricilla. I consider it a blessing to have known Sky. His love for sharing Christ was evident in everything he said and did. I will miss his presence, leadership, and wisdom. I know he is worshipping in the presence of our Lord.

    I will be out of town during the service, but know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate Sky’s life.

    I praise the Lord that he brought Sky and Priscilla into my life. They were such blessings. Sky and I had a great time discussing Wildcats basketball. He for Kentucky and I for Arizona. May God give you His special grace at this time. Love you.

    My wife and I had only known Sky Tudor for a few months but during that small amount of time we came to realize what a wonderful person he really was. He was very sincere regarding his Christian faith. He was a caring person for others and a warrior for Christ. He will be truly missed in this community. We pray for comfort for his family during this time of sorrow.

    To Sally Watkins and the Tudor family, my thoughts and prayers are with you in the passing of your brother Sky, you both had the most wonderful mother…..Louise Tudor, who was a very dear friend of mine.every time I spoke with her she always mentioned Sky and him living in Alaska..
