Dora Nina Godber, 77, entered her heavenly home, following an illness on Monday, April 15, 2024, at her home. Born to the late Bill (Poppy) & Polly Thomas Rapier on Monday, August 19, 1946 in Harlan, Ky. Dora worked in retail and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church in Buckeye. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandkids.
Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers; Billy, Edward, Ben, Charlie, and John Rapier; sisters, Mattie Jones, Gladys Lewis, and Lydia Strickland; and grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, & Adrian. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William Godber, of Buckeye; a son, Billy (Crystal) Godber, of Buckeye; daughters, Tina (Rodney) Barrett, of Lexington and Tanya Godber, of Buckeye; brothers, Glenn (Elizabeth) Rapier, of Sweetwater, TN, Orville Rapier, of Loudon, TN, and Arlis (Betty) Rapier, of Kingsport, TN; sisters, Mary Lynn (Carlos) Coulter, of Rockford, IL, and Lena (Robert) Rowland, of New Carlisle, OH; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Barrett, of Lexington, Abigail Barrett, of Lexington, Matthew Godber, of Lancaster, Alison Godber, of Lancaster, David Wright, of Lancaster, & Daniel Godber, of Lancaster; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 19, 2024 at Beech Grove Baptist Church with burial following at Lancaster Cemetery and Rev. Andy Dixon officiating. Pallbearers include Matthew Godber, Daniel Godber, David Wright, Joshua Barrett, Nicholas Myrick, Zachary Case, Randall Rapier and Tracy Rapier. Honorary pallbearers include Adam Hendrickson and Greg Hendrickson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM—8:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
