Leonard Centers Richardson, 78, of Conns Lane in Lancaster, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at his residence. Born May 5, 1934 in Richmond, Ky., he was a son of the late Harry & Ann Bowlin Richardson. After serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict, Leonard had served as a police officer in Lancaster and worked as a Ford dealership manager in West Palm Beach, Fla.He enjoyed spending his leisure time hunting and playing golf and was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church of Stanford, Ky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Morris, and a sister, Alberta Gannon.
He is survived by two daughters Angela Long & Saundra Arnold, both of Lancaster,sons, Leonard Dale Richardson of Byrdstown, Tn., Ken Wessell of Rochester Hills, Michigan,Cameron Richardson of Camp Shelby, Mississippi, & Christian Richardson of West Palm Beach, Fla., a brother, Harry Richardson of Clewiston, Fl., and four sisters, Catherine Sowder and Josephine Vance of Lancaster, Barbara Morris of Kuttawa, Ky., and Shelby Silvers of Cambridge, Ca.Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Brian & Adam Bolton, Chastity Scott, Dawn Gifford, Benjamin Chandler & Sheena Cooper and five great grandchildren , Chase, Jordan & Joshua Scott, Hunter Hollingsworth & Rayne Elizabeth Cooper.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, January 18, 2013 at Ramsey Funeral Home by Revs. Harold Best & Brad King with burial following in Richmond Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Chase Scott, David, Mark, and Scott Sowder, Glenn, Mickey and Kevin Vance.Honorary Pallbearers will be Betty and Buddy Arnold, Roy Gibson, Harry Allen Morris and Joe Gannon.Military rites will be performed by the Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
