John Wade Walker

John Wade Walker III, 67, of Paint Lick, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his home. Born Thursday, July 16, 1953 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late John Wade Walker II & Virginia Brooks Bell Walker. John was a welder, he enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and cooking. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and a step-mother Louella Walker.

Survivors include several cousins and a host of friends. A special friend, Lloyd (Linda) Sebastian, of Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Proctor officiating and burial following at Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Hampton, Chuck Perraut, Little Moore, Jimmy Tudor, Troy Miller, Doug Coyle, & Wayne Day. Honorary pallbearers include Lloyd and Linda Sebastian, Danny Day, Austin Tudor, Kay Hall, Kenneth Creech, John Wilson & Allen Weston. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital  or Shriners Children’s Hospital. Due to the high risk of COVID-19 we ask everyone to wear a mask. Friends & family may share memories or leave condolences on his tribute wall at : www.ramsey-young.com. Ramsey-Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    He will be truly missed by the Paint Lick community and surrounding counties, Jonn Wade loved hunting and fishing and mechanical and welding was his trade

    John Wade was the Greatest! He and Bruce Shell used to give me drag racing lessons in Bruce’s red Ventura on Sundays! I would ride my black mare up there. Boy, when Georgia found out, we were all in trouble! 😂 John Wade was such an integral part of my life. RIP John Wade! Save me a seat!

    Many fond childhood memories of playing with my cousin.. John Wade loved to chase me!! His house was the first place I wanted to go when visiting our grandparents.

    John, it was fun to grow up with you as a neighbor. Remembering your Mom and my Mom along with a few of the other Moms getting together at our pond and letting us all swim together. All through the years you and my brothers of course saw each other often. Never a dull moment with You around and you will be missed. Always loved you and your Mom.

    John wade will be missed by us. I grew up with him and I because sick a few years ago. I was not able to attend the services for John Wade, because of this virus, but he was a great guy and friend. Always had a smile on his face.
