James Stroxtile

James L. Stroxtile, 78, of Stanford, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Lexington . Born June 25, 1939 in Jefferson County, he was a son of the late Samuel & Bernice Young Stroxtile. James was the owner /operator of Strox’s Transmission in Stanford, who enjoyed collecting John Deere Tractors and working in his garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Stroxtile, a grandson, Stephen Boyd, and a granddaughter, Christina Boyd.
His survivors include his wife, Addie Poynter Stroxtile, two daughters, Stephanie Stroxtile of Porcupine, South Dakota, Terry Stroxtile of Denver, Colorado , two stepdaughters, Angela (Daryl) Conner and Diana Dennis, both of Stanford. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Michael J. & Andrew Boyd, Corey Dennis & five great grandchildren, Trityan, Tayven, Roman & Christina Boyd and Camson Dennis.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 18, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Lanny Hazelwood with burial following in Goshen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corey Dennis, Michael Boyd, Daryl Conner, James Poynter, Troy Belcher & Dwight Ray. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.     Jim was a great person , our best neighbor, always helped me or my kids with fixing cars, tractors, etc, Gave us fresh corn from his garden every year. We miss you Jim, God bless you.

    When I first moved into the neighborhood with John, the first friendly face I recall was Jim. He came over to introduce himself to me and gave me some beautiful vegetables from his garden. Anytime I saw him, he was always smiling, Jim will certainly be remembered in my prayers.
