David M. Pruett

David Milton Pruett, 73, of Lancaster, husband of Rosalie “Rose” Haas Pruett passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Monday, December 23, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was the son of Marjorie Rossmussen and the late Harold Pruett. David was a United States Navy Veteran and former computer engineer for NASA/ Geo control systems. David enjoyed wood working, genealogy, and technology, he was a active member of Southland Christian Church in Danville.
Survivors other than his wife Rosalie “Rose” Haas Pruett, include his mother Marjorie Rossmussen, son; Henry Pruett of Lexington, daughter; Alyssa Pruett of Bowling Green, brothers; Bill (Susan) Pruett of Manuel, Texas, Gary (Lynette)Pruett of Denton, Texas, Randy (Julie) Pruett of Abilene, Texas, sister; Janice (Bill) Beauchamp of Clouis, California & a host of beloved nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, February 05, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Lucas officiating, & burial following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time Wednesday, February 05, 2020 at the funeral home. Friends & family may share memories or leave condolences on his tribute wall at: Ramsey-Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    I worked with Dave for many years at NASA and truly enjoyed that time. He was a wonderful and intelligent man who will be missed.

    I’m glad I was able to get together with all of you for dinner during the Christmas holidays. Dave had several interests I could talk about….another solar eclipse to look forward to in a few years, contemplating plans to travel to Scotland and maybe the Netherlands. Though I knew he also found interest in US Civil War battlefields, I didn’t know enough to engage with him on that topic. Thank you Dave and family for the treasure of your company….rest in peace.

    Rose, I am thinking of you at this time of sorrow. It has been many decades since we played softball and chatting endlessly. I have so many fond memories and am thankful for all the help Dave gave me in life and my career. No matter where my life takes me, please know that you and Dave have had a lasting positive impact.
