Betty Howard

Betty Lou Ray Howard, 84 of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born Friday, October 19, 1933 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Bailey and Sally Sebastian Ray. She had been an employee of National Casket Company and was a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Howard; three sisters, Ruby Mucci, Rosa Ray & Joyce Clark; eight brothers, Clyde, Earl, Holman, Roger, Eugene, Edward, J.D., & Paul Ray.
She leaves to mourn her passing a sister, Brooks (Alfred) Gaffney of Lancaster; several nieces & nephews, including Shirley Broaddus, Danny Ray, Bobby Ray, & Dwight Ray, all of Lancaster.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 09, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Durham officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Dwight Ray, Danny Ray, Kenneth Richey, Roger Walton, Mike Sparks, & Dan Waters. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sunday school class of Hyattsville Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, March 08, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Friends & family may share memories or leave condolences on her tribute wall at www.ramsey-young.com. Ramsey-Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Betty was an absolutely a blessing to us all. She was a resident with us a Morning Pointe she was one that made us all smile, and she cared for us all. She became family to me and my son. She is deeply missed and will be forever thought of.

    We have known Betty ever since we can remember. She has been there for everything we’ve one in life. We went to church at Bethel Christian, Hyattsville, she attended ur wedding, Lisa’s baby shower, our 25th wedding party, and there are so many more memories, She was truly a God loving, and special person in our lives!

    Betty Lou and I were classmates at Buckeye High, Class of ’52 and I will miss her a lot. She and I always had a good visit at the Buckeye reunion and talked about the
    old days. Betty Lou was a #1 good person.
